Top Turkmen Diplomat Meets Kazakh Counterpart in Astana
The sides discussed prospects for further development of bilateral cooperation.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi in Astana on Monday.

The meeting was held within the framework of the upcoming C5+1 Ministerial Meeting of the heads of foreign ministries of Central Asia and the United States, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan said in its press release.

The sides discussed prospects for further development of bilateral cooperation, including in trade, transport, logistics and energy. Particular attention was paid to the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level to comprehensively strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries.

During the meeting, the two sides also had a thorough exchange of views on topical issues of regional and international agenda. Interest was expressed in further strengthening of interaction in the international arena.

The C5+1 Ministerial, which will be held with the participation of the US State Secretary Antony Blinken on Tuesday, will focus on enhancing economic, energy and environmental, and security cooperation among the US, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
