Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirodjiddin Mukhriddin met in Dushanbe on Wednesday to discuss preparations for the forthcoming state visit of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Tajikistan, which is scheduled for the first half of April.
During the meeting, the ministers discussed the current issues of Tajik-Turkmen relations in political, economic, humanitarian and other areas, according to Tajik Foreign Ministry statement.
The sides also exchanged views on the interaction between the two countries within the framework of regional and international organizations.
The heads of foreign ministries also discussed preparations for the Fifth Jubilee Consultative Meeting of Heads of Central Asian States to be held in Dushanbe in September and the upcoming meeting of the Council of Heads of State-Founders of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea.
