Turkmenistan Receives Its First Airbus Cargo Plane
The A330-200 P2F cargo plane has a flight distance of over 13,000 kilometers and is designed to transport up to 60 tons of cargo.

An Airbus A330-200 P2F cargo plane arrived at Ashgabat International Airport on Friday – the first such aircraft to be used in Central Asia, the official Turkmen media reported.

Following the President of Turkmenistan's decision in January 2021, Agency of Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers and the French company Airbus S.A.S. signed an agreement to purchase this new aircraft. It is the first aircraft to arrive as part of an agreement between the two companies to purchase two A330-200 P2F freighters.

According to the report, the purchase of the aircraft will strengthen Turkmenistan's aircraft system's technical base, expand the capabilities of national civil aviation, meet the needs of international air freight, carry out high-level cargo transportation by air with partner countries and will help to foster the expansion of humanitarian relations.
