Duties

Serves as Commercial Assistant and backup Economic Specialist. Performs as the primary professional analyst and advisor to the U.S. staff in planning, organizing, and administering programs to facilitate the promotion of U.S. exports and investment. Analyzes and reports on Turkmenistan's laws, regulations, and policies related to the trade and investment climate. Assists U.S. firms by planning trade promotion events and providing Dept of Commerce Partner Post services. Serves as lead drafter on investment and trade related reports. Is responsible for the intellectual property rights (IPR) portfolio, including engagement with local officials and development of recommendations and advocacy plans.

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: At least three years of experience in business, marketing, law, economic research, market research, trade promotion, international trade, or business development is required.

Education Requirements:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Law, Management, International Relations is required.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE:

• Fluent knowledge of English language is required. This may be tested.
• Fluent knowledge of Turkmen language is required. This may be tested.
• Fluent knowledge of Russian language is required. This may be tested.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to obtain and evaluate data and analyze it clearly and accurately in a variety of written formats with a high degree of complexity, including emails, memos, letters, presentation materials and market research reports. This may be tested.
