Job Purpose
- Prepare specifications for process piping based on facility design and operating parameters, in accordance with internationally recognized codes and standards.
- Provide engineering support to Engineering Department for in-house engineering packages and to projects department for FEED (Front End Engineering Design) and EPIC (Engineering, Procurement, Installation and Commissioning) phases of facilities construction and/or upgrading, focusing on the design, procurement, installation and commissioning of process piping and associated equipment.
Job Responsibilities
- Support Engineering and Projects department to ensure that all in-house engineering packages, FEED and EPIC projects are executed according to the schedules, budget provisions and quality standards set forth in their respective contracts.
- Develop Scope of Work (SOW) and Design Basis documents related to process piping, and pass on to Engineering Department Manager with comments and recommendations.
- Prepare In-house construction package for modification projects.
- Develop /review Piping Design Engineering deliverables such as Design Basis, Piping Specifications, and Piping Data sheets, Plot Plans, Equipment Lay out, Piping General Arrangement, Isometric drawings etc. as required for in-house engineering packages as assigned by discipline engineer or Engineering superintendent.
- Manage in house field modification and debottlenecking and new projects as allocated by engineering superintendent.
- Carryout Piping Design Studies related to existing facilities as assigned by Engineering Superintendent
- Review/Prepare Material Take Offs for in-house projects as required.
- Attend to site facilities during construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning to resolve to any in-house construction related issues that could arise.
- Attend to site facilities during in house construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning to resolve any contractor issues that arise, and ensure contractor compliance with company HSE policies.
- Assist the Projects department during the tendering, bidding and contracting process by providing technical input, responding to contractor queries, attending Factory Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing, ensuring compliance with quality management procedures, and reviewing equipment specifications, drawings and documents.
- Review and provide comments on Piping Engineering related drawings and documents submitted by EPIC contractor for various projects as needed.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Equivalent
- Minimum 7 years of experience with various international engineering consultancy firms associated with the oil and gas industry. Strong familiarity with international codes and standards related to process piping (i.e., ASME, API, ASTM, etc.).
