Job Purpose

  • Medical support of diving operations.
  • Primary offshore pre-hospital diving medical assistance.
  • Offshore diving health protection activities (control and co-ordination)

Job Responsibilities

  • To provide a qualified primary medical treatment, diagnosis, to stabilize diving patient/casualty’s condition in event of industrial injury or occupational disease and arrange medеvac as necessary.
  • To conduct routine diving physiological checkups as a part of daily diving program.
  • To control sanitary conditions of offshore diving installations, food preparation areas and food handlers in terms of their compliance with sanitary standards and to provide routine unscheduled sanitary inspections.
  • To search for best suitable medеvac option for Company and CTRs diving patients/or casualties.
  • To co-ordinate and check alcohol and drug testing of offshore diving personnel.
  • Sanitary education and first aid training of diving offshore personnel.
  • To ensure confidentiality of medical data.
  • To comply with safety diving requirements.
  • To follow norms of ethics and deontology.
  • Failure to perform (improper performance) of their duties stipulated by the job description, to the extent determined by the Labor Legislation of Turkmenistan.
  • For the violations committed in the course of the implementation of his activities - to the extent determined by the administrative, criminal and civil legislation of Turkmenistan
  • For causing material damage to the extent determined by the Labor, Criminal and Civil laws of Turkmenistan.

Education

Must Know:

  • Competent to perform the initial and physical assessments of divers prior to their admission to diving.
  • Can manage diving accidents and advise diving contractors on diving medicine and physiology.
  • Should have certified skills and basic practical experience in fitness-to-dive assessment, management of diving accidents, advanced life support and acute trauma care as well as general wound care.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Diploma of Medical Institute with qualification of GP.
  • Work experience as a GP more than 3 years.
  • Diving medicine diploma from a recognized diving institute (academy).
  • Refresher training, including emergency care training certificate.
  • Basic sea survival and fire-fighting courses.
  • Computer and English language literacy.
