How can you make a difference?
- Technical Support to Procurement: assisting UNICEF in the solicitation process and the selection of qualified construction companies.
- Quality Assurance and Monitoring of construction projects: technical oversight of ongoing construction activities to ensure compliance with specifications and signed contract, with the inclusiveness, safety and quality standards, and to provide advice to UNICEF on any potential risks related to timeline, budget, and quality of works.
- Development of the draft National infrastructure Accessibility Standards for inclusive schools/ kindergartens taking in consideration the existing building standards, experience from model schools and international good practices.
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- A university degree is required in civil engineering, construction engineering, architecture, or other relevant areas.
- Knowledge and skills in developing tender documents, project monitoring, site supervision, quality assurance, and/or other directly related technical fields. Familiarity with relevant local and international standards and guidelines for school infrastructures and WASH facilities. Ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and local authorities.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in the above areas.
- Knowledge of United Nations human and child rights standards, UNICEF’s values and ethical standards; Cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality, and age sensitivity and adaptability
- Excellent command of Russian and Turkmen, both oral and written. Working knowledge of English is an asset.
