Embassy of the Republic of Korea Announces Overseas Korean Youth Internship for Consular Assistant Position
Contract Type: temporary (6 months)
Position Title: Overseas Korean Youth Intern
1 vacancy: as an Assistant to the Consul.
- To foster global talent by hiring the next generation of overseas Koreans as interns at diplomatic missions, expanding opportunities for their participation in national affairs, and providing work experience in the field of public administration.
- To promote the capacity building of overseas Korean youth as a bridge between Turkmenistan and Korea
Major Responsibilities
Job-specific responsibilities
- Consular service support such as visa, notarization, etc.
General responsibilities
- Assisting Embassy staff in various fields (politics, economy, culture, sports, administration and etc.)
- Performing other duties and instructions related to the work of the Embassy as assigned by Embassy staff.
Requirements
- Fluency in the Russian and Turkmen languages
- Higher education degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s and etc.)
- Good knowledge of the institutions, policies, conventions and social practices of Turkmenistan
- Ability to use MS-OFFICE, especially Excel and Word
- Eligibility: This vacancy strictly open to ethnic Koreans between the ages of 20 and 34
* High school graduates with excellent grades are also eligible to apply.
Preferable Skills
- Working knowledge of English and (or) Korean language.
- Professional skills and experience in the relevant field
Salary and Working Conditions
- Monthly salary: Maximum 950 USD (will be determined upon the results of interview)
- Working hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00-18:00 (Lunch break: 12:30-13:30)
Recruitment Process
1st stage: Document review
- Document submission: 02/06/2026 – 10/06/2026
2nd stage: Interview and Announcement of the final result: 12/06/2026
- Background Investigation (2 - 4 weeks)
- Commencement of work: 01/07/2026
Required Documents
- CV with photo 4X5, which was taken within last 3 months.
- Diploma / Transcript with grades, translated and notarized in English
- Proof of Overseas Korean Status (Birth Certificate specifying the applicant’s nationality/ethnicity).
- Documents proving relevant skills and work experiences (if available).
- Recommendation letter(s) (if available).
