Tasks and Responsibilities:
Under the overall supervision of the «Chief of Fund Administration», the successful candidate will be tasked with the following duties:
- Provides safe, reliable and timely transportation services for the Head of Mission, Centre’s staff and high-level officials/visitors in strict compliance with applicable Traffic Laws and delivery and collection of official mail, documents and other items;
- Meets official personnel at the airport and facilitates customs formalities as required;
- Conducts daily inspections of assigned vehicles, including checking oil, water, tyres, battery, brakes. Ensures that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accident;
- Performs minor vehicle maintenance, arranges servicing and repairs with authorized service providers, ensures that the assigned vehicle/s are kept clean and presentable;
- Maintains accurate records of official trips, mileage, fuel consumption, maintenance, repairs and vehicle servicing, updates the Fleet Management Database, maintains inventory records of vehicle-related supplies and equipment, and prepares monthly fuel consumption reports in accordance with the established procedures.
Necessary Qualifications:
Education:
- Completed secondary education
Experience and knowledge/skills:
- Four years’ work experience as a driver, preferably in international or diplomatic organization; safe driving record.
- Good knowledge of the city of Ashgabat and surroundings.
- Ability to work effectively with people of different backgrounds.
- Working knowledge of the language of the duty station and basic knowledge of English.
- Valid local driver’s licence, category “B”.
- Knowledge of driving rules and regulations, including mastery of safe driving techniques; awareness of basic rules of close protection and chauffeur courtesies (including the VIP/protocol driving procedures). Skills in minor vehicle repair, initiative and discretion.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain electronic fleet records.
