Ashgabat Hosts First Summit of Heads of Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Turkmenistan on Friday to attend the first trilateral summit of the Presidents of Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held separate bilateral meetings with the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan on Friday at the Ashgabat International Airport, official Turkmen media reports.

According to the official press service of the President of Tajikistan, during the summit, the Heads of State of the three countries discussed further development of cooperation in the political, trade-economic, energy, water, environmental, transport and other fields.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held separate bilateral meetings with the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan at the Arkadag hotel in the capital. As a result of the summit, the Presidents adopted a joint statement.
