The international exhibition "Construction, Industry, Energy of Turkmenistan – 2024" and the conference "Development of Construction, Industry, and Energy of Turkmenistan" (CIET 2024) opened on Sunday in Turkmenistan’s capital, Ashgabat, showcasing the country’s ambitious construction and energy projects aimed at attracting international investment, as reported by Turkmenistan’s official media.
The exhibition gathered representatives from Japan, China, the UAE, Türkiye, Iran, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and India, highlighting Turkmenistan’s growing industrial potential and infrastructure development.
In a written address to the participants, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the nation’s rapid industrial growth and modernization efforts. He underscored Turkmenistan’s focus on developing innovative production facilities and expanding export potential.
A key feature in Turkmenistan’s development program is the new city of Arkadag, inaugurated in June 2023. This smart city project, comprising 336 facilities in its first phase, has received over 20 international certifications, including recognition from the OSCE for its sustainable design.
The exhibition also showcases Turkmenistan’s expanding construction materials industry, which now produces cement, metal products, glass, and other building materials. The private sector’s role has grown significantly, with local companies like Aydyn Gijeler establishing electronics production, including computers and smartphones.
The three-day forum features five specialized sessions covering topics from hydrocarbon monetization to smart city development. Bilateral meetings between business leaders and government officials are also planned, fostering new partnerships in the construction and energy sectors.
The exhibition will conclude on November 5 with an awards ceremony for participants.
