The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia, together with the Creative Union of Writers of Georgia, held an event in Tbilisi on Friday. This event celebrated the motto of 2025 in Turkmenistan, declaring the year "International Year of Peace and Trust," which Turkmenistan initiated and the UN General Assembly supported, Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia reported this.
High-ranking officials from Georgia attended, including Deputy Speaker of Parliament Nino Tsilosani and President of the National Academy of Sciences Roin Metreveli, along with notable writers, scholars, and cultural figures. A key moment of the evening involved presenting the Turkmenistan Jubilee Medal "In Honor of the 300th Anniversary of Magtymguly Pyragy" to Shota Rustaveli Prize laureate Makvala Gonasvili for her contributions to promoting the legacy of the great Eastern poet and thinker.
Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Georgia, Dovletmyrat Seyitmammedov, emphasized the importance of cultural exchange in strengthening relations between the countries. He also highlighted the significance of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's Permanent Neutrality and the anniversary of Magtymguly Pyragy in the context of global efforts to enhance peace and trust.
The event also featured the presentation of a new book by the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, titled "Magtymguly: Thinker of the World" Participants expressed gratitude for Turkmenistan's contributions to maintaining stability and peace on the international stage.
The ceremonial evening concluded with a buffet featuring traditional Turkmen dishes and a cultural program, including Georgian folks ongs.
