The consul of Turkmenistan in the German city of Frankfurt am Main, Murad Ozbekbayev, visited Saarland, a federal state in Germany, from January 28 to 30 to enhance business ties and explore collaboration opportunities with the Saar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which represents about 50,000 companies eager to connect with Turkmen business circles, as reported by the Consulate of Turkmenistan in the Federal Republic of Germany - Frankfurt.
Ozbekbayev met with Oliver Schmitt, a chamber board member, and Oliver Groll, head of its foreign trade department. They emphasized establishing direct contacts between the chambers of commerce of Turkmenistan and Saar and fostering connections among business representatives. Discussions included the potential for Saarland companies to participate in trade and economic events in Turkmenistan and abroad.
The consul also met with David Lindemann, the state secretary for European affairs, to discuss interregional contacts and key areas for Turkmen-German cooperation, including energy, machine engineering, pharmaceuticals, and high-tech technologies. They also highlighted the need for organizing bilateral visits and joint economic events.
Ozbekbayev further engaged with Katerina Jakob, a horse breeder and director of Jacob Pferdezucht GbR, to explore opportunities in equestrian sports and the involvement of Akhal-Teke horses in international competitions.
In closing, he briefed Saar officials on significant upcoming events, including the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality and the declaration of 2025 as the "International Year of Peace and Trust," reinforcing Turkmenistan's commitment to global partnerships.
