Turkmenistan Showcases National Heritage at Novruz Celebration in Tbilisi

The historic Abanotubani district in Tbilisi served as the venue for the grand celebration of International Novruz Day, where the Embassy of Turkmenistan set up a national-style exhibition pavilion.

Visitors had the opportunity to explore traditional costumes, jewelry, carpets, souvenirs, and samples of Turkmen national cuisine, as well as books by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

A stand dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality attracted special attention from guests, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia reported this on Saturday.

Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, Chairman of the City Council Giorgi Tkemaladze, and representatives of diplomatic missions attended the official part of the event.

Ambassador of Turkmenistan, Dovletmurat Seyitmammedov, emphasized the significance of Novruz in the cultural heritage of the Turkmen people and its unifying role based on the principles of peace in his speech. He also noted that the adoption of the UN General Assembly resolution declaring 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust, initiated by Turkmenistan, reflects international recognition of the country’s contributions to global security and sustainable development.

The event, organized with the support of the city hall and active participation from the diplomatic missions of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Iran, and Türkiye, as well as diasporas and cultural centers, concluded with a concert featuring national music and dance performances.
