Turkmen designer and head of a fashion house, Jennet Agaeva, is strengthening her presence in the fashion industry through successful collaboration with Italy’s fashion community. Her collection, showcased at the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan, caught the attention of Italian fashion experts and complemented the works of designers from the Federmoda association, according to Turkmenistan’s official media.
A turning point in Agaeva’s career was her 2024 show, where she presented a collection of refined evening gowns. Her talent did not go unnoticed—Luigi Ferrari, the Ambassador of Italy to Turkmenistan, personally supported her professional trip to Italy, marking a significant step toward her international recognition.
Notably, the Turkmen and Italian design schools found a shared aesthetic in elegance and simplicity. National Turkmen accessories—such as the traditional gyulýaka brooches and bilezik bracelets—were creatively reinterpreted and integrated into Italian fashion collections.
Currently, Agaeva continues her studies at the Academy of Arts while managing her fashion house. Her business strategy is built on blending national traditions with modern trends, contributing to the growing international presence of Turkmen fashion.
