Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) opened an office in Turkmenistan’s capital on Monday. The ceremony was held at the Arkaç Business Center with Turkmen government officials, international companies, and UAE partners in attendance.

UAE Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ahmed Al Hameli, chairman of the Turkmennebit State Concern Guvanch Agajanov, and ADNOC Director of International Asset Management Bassem Tadros delivered remarks. They highlighted the strategic nature of bilateral cooperation, the company’s plans for long-term operations in Turkmenistan, and the project’s role in energy development and workforce training.

Participants said ADNOC’s presence in Ashgabat marks a new chapter in Turkmen-UAE relations and strengthens Turkmenistan’s image as an attractive destination for foreign energy investment.

In May 2025, ADNOC acquired a 38 percent stake in Block 1 of the Turkmen Caspian offshore area, operating alongside Malaysia’s Petronas. The gas block produces about 400 million standard cubic feet of natural gas per day. Recoverable reserves exceed 7 trillion cubic feet, with significant potential for increased production.

ADNOC, the national oil company of Abu Dhabi, controls 95 percent of the UAE’s hydrocarbon reserves. It ranks sixth globally in oil reserves and seventh in natural gas. The company includes subsidiaries engaged in exploration and production, refining, and the marketing and distribution of petroleum products.
