The Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Tajikistan on Friday held a ceremonial event dedicated to the 2026 national motto, “Independent, Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Steeds,” and the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence, according to the Turkmen Embassy.
Representatives of Tajikistan’s government and public institutions, equestrian specialists, members of the Turkmen diaspora, students and embassy staff attended the event.
Speakers highlighted the international recognition of Akhal-Teke horse breeding, which is included in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of UNESCO, as well as the international successes of the national equestrian group Galkynysh.
A photo exhibition and book display were organized at the embassy, featuring decorative and applied art reflecting the beauty of Akhal-Teke horses, artistic photographs, and books by National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, as well as President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The event concluded with a tasting of Turkmen national cuisine.
