The Turkmen dry cargo vessel Gadamly arrived at the Baku International Sea Trade Port on Tuesday, where a ceremonial welcome was held for the ship—the first of its class built in Turkmenistan.

The 6,100-ton vessel is designed to carry up to 240 twenty-foot containers, according to Turkmenistan’s official media.

The ship will operate regular voyages between the ports of Turkmenbashi and Baku, contributing to faster cargo flows and more efficient logistics chains in the Caspian Sea region.

The vessel’s maiden voyage on May 8 was officially launched by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan.

During the ceremony in Baku, representatives of official and diplomatic circles noted that the commissioning of the new vessel would provide additional momentum for the development of the Middle Corridor and the Eurasian transport route.

The construction and commissioning of the dry cargo vessel reflect Turkmenistan’s policy of expanding its transport capacity and developing international corridors connecting East and West.
