Ak Nesil language center has launched enrollment for its summer English program WoW Summer Camp, a full-immersion urban day camp for children aged 6 to 14. The program begins June 1 in Ashgabat and runs for three months, divided into three four-week sessions.
The concept is built around English immersion without travel abroad. Throughout each session, children operate in an English-speaking environment: lessons, communication, games, meals, excursions and meetings with guest speakers are all conducted in English. The format is designed to mirror summer schools in the United Kingdom, without the need to send children overseas.
English-only principle for the entire team
The key distinction of Ak Nesil from other programs is that the English-language environment is maintained by the entire staff, not only teachers during lessons. Since its founding in 2020, the center has followed an English-only principle: teachers, assistants and administrative staff, from reception to office personnel, communicate in English with both children and each other. This rule has been consistently upheld over the years and makes immersion in WoW Summer Camp practical rather than symbolic.
Curriculum
Ak Nesil uses educational programs and textbooks from the United Kingdom and specializes in teaching English and Russian languages, as well as preparing students for IELTS, TOEFL and SAT exams. According to the center’s experience, children starting from beginner level achieve a solid conversational level of English by the end of the full course.
The daily camp schedule is designed for natural language acquisition through action. The program includes academic sessions in small groups, creative workshops, sports activities, English-language cartoons and films, as well as project-based and play-based learning.
Age groups
The program is divided into four age groups: 6–9, 10–12 and 12–14 years. Each group is supervised by two educators — a lead teacher and an assistant — ensuring individual attention and maintaining a consistent language environment without compromising communication quality.
Thematic days and guest speakers
Each week includes sessions with invited experts who introduce children to practical skills in English. The program features health and hygiene days with participation from specialists and partner organizations, financial literacy days focused on money management, literature and reading days, and other themed activities.
Thursday excursions
Every Thursday of the session is an excursion day. Groups, accompanied by teachers, visit carefully selected locations: a horse stable, a zoo, a pizza restaurant with a workshop, a greenhouse strawberry farm, a mayonnaise production facility and other sites where children observe real-world processes. All excursions are also conducted in English.
Meals and facilities
The camp menu is developed by a professional chef, taking into account age-specific nutritional needs and a balanced daily diet. The camp operates from Monday to Saturday. The location is the “Belet” building on Bitarap Turkmenistan Street in Ashgabat.
Dates and enrollment
The program includes three four-week sessions: June 1–28, July, and August. Enrollment is available for one or multiple consecutive sessions. The number of places in each age group is limited.
