A delegation from the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan (SCRMET) on Thursday visited the Polatlı Commodity Exchange in Türkiye, where it reviewed its operations, including electronic trading of agricultural products, laboratory services and the licensed warehousing system, according to SCRMET.
The Polatlı Commodity Exchange became Türkiye’s first accredited institutional platform for electronic trading of agricultural products, primarily grain crops, including wheat and barley. Established in 1984, the exchange operates its own laboratory and licensed warehousing infrastructure, ensuring transparency in trading operations and monitoring the condition of the region’s agricultural market.
The visit took place as part of the SCRMET delegation’s working trip to Ankara on July 22–23. The Turkmen delegation includes SCRMET Deputy Chairman Yusup Amansaryyev and Azat Jelilov, deputy head of the Legal Support and Human Resources Department.
Earlier on Wednesday, SCRMET representatives held meetings with M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, president of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), and Mustafa Bayburtlu, TOBB deputy secretary-general. The sides discussed cooperation between the exchange organizations of Turkmenistan and Türkiye.
