Serdar Berdimuhamedov Attends Opening of New Medical Centers

Three new medical facilities — the International Scientific and Clinical Oncology Center, the Dental Center and the International Pediatric Center opened in Ashgabat on Oct. 10 with the participation of Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The ceremonies were held to mark Turkmenistan’s Health Care and Medical Industry Workers Day, Turkmen state media reported.

The International Scientific and Clinical Oncology Center has 500 beds and is designed to provide specialized medical care for diagnosing and treating cancer. The new center was established on the basis of the former Scientific and Clinical Oncology Center.

The Dental Center has 80 beds and is intended to provide treatment and preventive care for dental and maxillofacial diseases. The center plans to provide modern medical services using innovative technologies.

The International Pediatric Center has 160 beds and was established to protect children’s health and provide specialized pediatric care. It will operate under the Directorate of International Medical Centers.

On Friday, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov also signed a resolution establishing the Dental Center, the International Scientific and Clinical Oncology Center and the International Pediatric Center, and approving their regulations and charters in accordance with established procedures.
