New Underground Road and Luxury Hotel Open in Ashgabat

The opening ceremony of new underground road and pedestrian crossing, and the Mahabat (Advertisement) monument, located at the intersection of the central city highways - S. Turkmenbashi and A. Niyazov avenues, and the new Diwan hotel, took place in the Turkmen capital Ashgabat with the participation of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Head of the Mejlis (Parliament), deputy chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of military and law enforcement agencies, ministries and departments, public organizations, the Hyakim (Mayor) of Ashgabat and journalists attended the ceremony.

Turkmen entrepreneurs carried out the design and construction of the underground road and four pedestrian crossings, including the improvement of the adjacent territory and laying of supply engineering communications.

The new complex of road and transport infrastructure is located on 4.5-hectare territory. The total construction area was 44,340.95 square meters. The length of the underground road is 350 meters.

In the center of the road junction above the tunnel, at the intersection of S. Turkmenbashi and A. Niyazov avenues, a Mahabat monument is installed, which represents a cube 16 meters high and wide. Its edges are made in the shape of an Oguzhan star with built-in video screens on which various advertising and other information will be displayed. The height of the monument, including the 5-meter pedestal, is 21 meters.

Then the President of Turkmenistan walked to the new Diwan Hotel located along the S. Turkmenbashi Avenue.

During the opening ceremony of the hotel, the Head of State expressed confidence that the new hotel would become another symbol of Turkmen hospitality.

The new hotel houses 131 rooms, including standard, deluxe, junior suites and VIP. The building also has a restaurant and a banquet hall. Thus, the new hotel provides all conditions for a comfortable stay and cultural leisure of guests.

In addition, the hotel complex has a fitness room, beauty salon and SPA. The building also houses two conference rooms with 20 and 40 seats, respectively.
