Turkmenistan Solemnly Celebrates Its 30th Independence Anniversary

Turkmenistan solemnly celebrates the 30th anniversary of its independence on Monday.

The commemorative events started with a solemn ceremony of laying flowers at the Monument of Independence in Ashgabat, with the participation of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Government officials, heads of military and law enforcement agencies, representatives of public organizations, honorary elders, students, residents and guests of the capital also attended the ceremony.

A military parade to commemorate the Independence Day was held new complex of the State Tribune in the capital. The millitary parade demonstrated the high professionalism and training of Turkmen soldiers. Military and law enforcement agencies demonstrated their military technologies, samples of equipment and weapons.

Representatives of the parliament and the public, all branches of the national economy, culture, education, healthcare, scientific and sports circles and of all regions of the country also took part in the festive parade.

The holiday is also widely celebrated in all regions of Turkmenistan.

President of Russia Vladimir Putin, President of the United States Joe Biden, President of China Xi Jinping and UN Secretary General António Guterres extended their congratulations to Turkmenistan on this significant date.

The presidents of Turkey, Germany, India, Iran, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Belarus, the Emperor of Japan, the King of Saudi Arabia also congratulated the country on the 30th anniversary of independence.
