President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev on Sunday arrived in Turkmenistan on a state visit. Upon arrival at the Ashgabat International Airport, Tokayev was greeted by the Vice Premier Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
During the talks at the hall of government delegations of the airport, the officials outlined the high level of strategic Turkmen-Kazakh relations, the official media of Turkmenistan reports.
The President of Kazakhstan then met with the head of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at the hippodrome of the Ahal-Teke equestrian complex. At the complex, a show of Turkmen horse riders was organized for the Heads of State.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed admiration for the Turkmen horses. Words of gratitude were also addressed to the Turkmen horsemen.
Following the event, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, on behalf of the Turkmen people, presented the Ahal-Teke horse named Ganatly (Winged) as a gift to the Kazakh people.
In turn, Serdar Berdimuhamdov, the Vice-Premier and President of the International Association of Ahal-Teke Horse Breeding and the Türkmen Alabaý Itleri International Association, presented a greyhound named Bovser as a symbol of friendship to the Kazakh people.
The Kazakh guest expressed gratitude for the respect to the people of Kazakhstan and gifts, outlined that interstate relations, thanks to the efforts of the Head of Turkmenistan, are developing for the benefit of the two peoples, according to the report.
Presidents of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan will hold high-level talks in Ashgabat on Monday to discuss bilateral cooperation in a wide range of areas.
