Turkmen, Kyrgyz Presidents Meet in Cholpon-Ata

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov held talks in the city of Cholpon-Ata of Kyrgyzstan’s Issyk-Kul region on Thursday, the Press Service of the Kyrgyz President said in its statement.

The Head of Turkmenistan has arrived in Cholpon-Ata to participate in the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of States of Central Asia.

The Presidents discussed topical issues of cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats.

Sadyr Japarov said today Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan are close friends, strategic partners and brotherly countries. He added that the Kyrgyz side attaches great importance to the expansion and qualitative development of trade and economic relations with Turkmenistan.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov thanked the Kyrgyz side for the warm welcome and expressed readiness to continue fruitful cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in all areas of mutual interest, including trade-economic and investment spheres.

President Berdimuhamedov also expressed confidence that the documents to be adopted and signed at the Consultative Meeting of Heads of State of Central Asia would expand and deepen the effective cooperation between the countries of the region.
