President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Friday attended the opening ceremony of Tashkent Park in Ashgabat.

The park is located on the capital's Magtymguly Avenue. A landscaped garden with flower gardens and miniature replicas of Tashkent sights have been erected on a territory of about three hectares, the Press Service of the President of Uzbekistan reports.

The Presidents familiarized themselves with conditions created at the new park and planted trees as a sign of good intentions.

The opening ceremony was attended by official delegations of the two countries, representatives of public in Ashgabat and young people.

In 2018, the Ashgabat park was opened in Tashkent as a sign of friendship and brotherhood between people of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

The ceremony of launching the construction of Dashoguz- Khorezm border trade zone was also held at the site.
