President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday in Avaza National Tourist Zone on Wednesday.
The Head of Türkiye has arrived in Turkmenistan the day before to participate in the first summit of the heads of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
The meeting exchanged views on priority issues for further expansion of interaction that is successfully developing on bilateral and multilateral basis, the official Turkmen media reports.
During the talks, particular attention was paid to the fact that Türkiye, as a long-standing and reliable partner of Turkmenistan in the economic sphere, is one of the leaders in Turkmenistan in terms of trade and investment. In this regard, the sides stressed the need to use the full potential of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Business Council as the key instruments for strengthening effective contacts and implementation of joint large-scale projects.
The Presidents highlighted fuel-energy and transport-communications sectors among the most important areas of bilateral relations.
Earlier in the day, Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a meeting with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty chamber of the Turkmenistan’s bicameral parliament Milli Gengesh.
