President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov postponed his visit to Tajikistan, Asia-Plus news agency reported on Saturday, citing the press service of the President of Tajikistan.
The visit was postponed due to the death of Ogulabat Berdimuhamedova, the grandmother of the Turkmen President and mother of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
In addition, the first meeting of the Business Council of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, scheduled for April 8, and a business forum of entrepreneurs from both countries, scheduled for April 9, have also been canceled.
Tajik President Emomali Rahmon sent letters of condolence to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of Turkmen people, Halk Maslahaty Chairman Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on Saturday.
