Second EU-Central Asia Economic Forum Will Take Place in Almaty
The first EU-Central Asia Economic Forum was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan in 2021.

The Second Economic Forum EU-Central Asia will be held on May 18-19 in Almaty, Kazakhstan, the European Union office in Turkmenistan announced on Friday.

High-ranking officials from Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, the EU, the European Investment Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD)will attend the event. The EU side will be led by Valdis Dombrovskis, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission.

The forum's goal is to foster engagement between the EU and Central Asia in three areas: green and digital transition, business environment enhancement, and trade. The OECD will co-host the event.

A business meeting organized in collaboration with the International Trade Centre will take place to exchange perspectives with private sector representatives and facilitate economic links between the EU and Central Asia on May 18.
