On Tuesday, Ashgabat hosted the Second Meeting of the Turkmenistan-Romania International Road Transport Commission, the official website of the Turkmenawtoulaglary Agency reported.
Representatives of the Turkmenawtoulaglary Agency of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and a delegation led by Adrian George Fogish, State Secretary of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Romania, attended the event.
At the meeting, the sides discussed the state of international cargo traffic, international road traffic between the countries, and the prospects for their future development. They also became acquainted with the activities and opportunities of the two countries' transport sector institutions, and exchanged views on the mutual development of the transport and logistics sectors.
Moreover, the participants of the meeting highlighted the importance of the creation of the Black Sea-Caspian Sea International Transport Corridor and expressed satisfaction with the work on the draft Agreement between the Governments of Turkmenistan, Romania, Georgia and Azerbaijan. They noted that this international transport corridor will greatly contribute to the increase in international freight traffic and logistics between Central Asia and Europe.
The meeting also touched upon the prospects for the development of international cooperation, increasing trade through logistics, digitalization and logistics system, improving the connectivity of transport and logistics structures, as well as the prospects for the successful implementation of the tasks arising from the Program for the Development of Transport Diplomacy of the President of Turkmenistan for 2022-2025.
