FIFA President Gianni Infantino arrived in Turkmenistan on Thursday on a working visit, the official Turkmen media reported.
According to the report, Gianni Infantino was welcomed at the Ashgabat International Airport by the leadership of the Football Federation of Turkmenistan.
During a one-day visit, the head of FIFA will meet with the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, government officials, and representatives of the National Football Federation to discuss the development of the sport in Turkmenistan and prospects for future cooperation.
The head of FIFA is touring Central Asia. During the working week, the FIFA President will also visit Kyrgyzstan (May 4-5) and Uzbekistan (May 5-6).
Gianni Infantino has been the head of FIFA since 2016. On March 16 of this year at the 73rd FIFA Congress in Kigali (Rwanda) Infantino was re-elected for a second term, which will last until 2027.
