President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Monday received in Ashgabat the Chairman of the South Korean builder Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd Jung Won-ju, the official Turkmen media reports.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to further strengthening the traditionally friendly relations with the Republic of Korea and noted the progressive dynamics of the Turkmen-Korean multilateral cooperation.
The meeting participants highlighted the successful work of leading Korean companies in the Turkmen market and their participation in major projects, including in the gas and chemical industries.
As an example of successful cooperation, the sides cited productive relations established between Türkmenhimiýa (Turkmen Chemicals) State Concern and Daewoo E&C. It was stated that Turkmenistan is ready to consider proposals of Korean partners on implementation of projects on development of the chemical industry, in particular on designing and building facilities to produce phosphorus, ammonia and carbamide.
In view of the unfolding fundamental transformations, Turkmenistan is very interested in Korea's advanced experience in building and managing smart cities, application of high technologies and achievements in the field of renewable energy sources. In addition, Turkmenistan is ready to discuss new areas of cooperation in the oil and gas industry, according to the state media report.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also met with the Chairman of Daewoo E&C Jung Won-ju . The sides discussed further ways of expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.
