China has launched the first container train to Uzbekistan, which passed through the territory of Turkmenistan, the Uzdaily web edition reported on Monday.
The route train, consisting of 39 40-foot containers loaded with household appliances - refrigerators, washing machines, and gas stoves - also passed through Iran.
The containers are shipped from China by sea to Bandar Abbas port and enter Uzbekistan via Turkmenistan, where they are loaded on rail platforms at Bandar Abbas port in Iran.
Earlier, Iran and Uzbekistan agreed to develop a trilateral transport multimodal corridor Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran.
