Nokerguly Atagulyyev was elected as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Union of Industrialists and Economists of Turkmenistan (UIET) at the meeting of the UIET on Wednesday upon the proposals of the participants, the UIET press service reported.
The UIET members discussed the implementation of the "Program of the President of Turkmenistan on the Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan for 2022-2028".
The meeting proceeded with a presentation on the "Fund for Supporting Small and Medium Entrepreneurship in Turkmenistan" by the UIET following the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan.
Founded in 2008, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan currently includes more than 28 thousand representatives of the business community of Turkmenistan.
Nokerguly Atagulyyev, an economist, is an experienced government official who served as the Minister of Trade from 2007-2010, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the UAE and Tajikistan in 2010-2012, and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan in 2012-2013.
