A Turkmen delegation visited Baku International Sea Trade Port on Friday to expand cooperation and increase cargo transportation between Central Asia and Europe, the Turkmen Embassy in Azerbaijan reported on Monday.

The delegation included heads of state and private structures in transportation, logistics, and trade.

According to the report, the representatives of Turkmenistan considered opportunities for expanding transit infrastructure, identifying additional potential, and encouraging the attraction of new types of cargo.

Within the framework of the visit, the delegation familiarized itself with the technical capabilities of the Baku port, implemented and planned infrastructure projects, as well as the volume of transported cargo, international ports, and logistics companies that are involved in cooperation with the port.

Baku International Sea Trade Port is a major commercial seaport in Azerbaijan, located on the south-eastern coast of the Caspian Sea in the city of Aliat. The port is an important link in the transportation infrastructure connecting Azerbaijan with other countries in the region and Europe.
