Turkmenistan is planning to introduce a new type of pension that would reward individuals for their achievements and contributions to the country, the official Turkmen media reported.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Hojamyrat Geldimiradov reported on Friday at the regular online meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on the draft documents "Procedure for Appointment of Personal Pensions for Special Services to Turkmenistan" and "On the composition of the Commission for Appointment of Personal Pensions for Special Services to Turkmenistan", which were prepared following the provisions of the Code on Social Protection of Population.
Hojamyrat Geldimiradov also reported on the work carried out by the subordinate structures, as well as practical steps taken to improve the legislative acts in the field of social security.
The President of Turkmenistan emphasized that special attention is paid to the regulation of relations in the field of social security in accordance with the requirements of the time and gave the Deputy Prime Minister a number of specific instructions in this regard.
During the meeting, which took place on July 14, 2023, President Berdimuhamedov signed a Decree on raising wages, pensions, state benefits and scholarships by 10 percent from January 1, 2024.
