Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Kazakhstan Batyr Rejepov and Charge d'Affaires of Iraq in Kazakhstan Jaber Najm Adbullah Al-Temimi held a meeting in Astana on Tuesday to discuss organizational matters related to the upcoming visit of the Iraqi delegation to Turkmenistan.
According to the press service of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Kazakhstan, the meeting emphasized the importance of developing economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Turkmenistan and Iraq.
In addition, the parties discussed opportunities for economic cooperation, including in fuel and energy sphere.
Last month, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia al-Sudani mulled over the possibility of importing gas from Turkmenistan at an emergency meeting to find alternatives to gas imports to the country.
