Kyrgyzstan aims to import 1.7 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity from Turkmenistan in 2024, the Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan Taalaibek Ibraev announced in an interview with Russia’s RIA Novosti.
According to the interview published on Thursday, the Minister stated that currently, Kyrgyzstan purchases electricity from both Turkmenistan and Russia.
He added that by the end of this year, the Russian company InterRAO will supply approximately 1.5 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, while Turkmenistan will send 1.6 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity.
From January to April 2023, Kyrgyzstan imported 566.381 million kilowatt-hours of electricity from Turkmenistan.
