The Turkmen football team Ahal achieved a 1-0 victory over Al-Fayha from Saudi Arabia, the winners of the Saudi Arabian Cup, on Tuesday in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan.
The Ahal midfielder Elman Tagayev scored the only goal of the match in the 51st minute.
With this win, Ahal now sits in second place in Group A, having secured three wins so far. The leading position in this group is held by Al Ain, a team from the UAE, also with three wins. Al-Fayha is currently in third place, followed by the Uzbek team, Pakhtakor, in fourth.
Ahal is competing in the western zone of the AFC Champions League, where a total of 20 teams are participating, divided into five groups. The top five teams from each group, along with the top three second-placed teams, will advance to the next round.
This year's AFC Champions League in the western group will mark the participation of renowned players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Karim Benzema, Sadio Mane, and several others. They will be making their debut in the Asian Champions League.
Ahal's next match is scheduled for October 3, where they will face Al Ain as the visiting team.
