Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who arrived in Tashkent for the 16th meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organisation, met with the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the official Turkmen media reports.
Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks focusing on advancing the Turkmen-Uzbek partnership in political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian aspects. Both leaders emphasized the significance of expanding economic interaction within the framework of the Economic Cooperation Organisation.
The Heads of State also exchanged their views on international and regional agenda matters of mutual interest.
Turkmenistan is currently holding the Chairmanship of the Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO). The previous 15th ECO Summit was hosted in Ashgabat on November 28, 2021. As part of its Chairmanship, Turkmenistan has developed a Concept to intensify mutually beneficial partnerships in trade and economy, investment, transport and logistics, energy, and cultural and humanitarian fields within the ECO region.
