Arkadag City to Expand Administrative Territory by 119 Hectares

During a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Friday, the Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, Dunyagozel Gulmanova, apprised President Serdar Berdimuhamedov about the Mejlis resolution titled "On Amendments to the Administrative Territory of Arkadag City".

102 hectares from the Geoktepi district of Ahal province and 17 hectares from the lands of Ashgabat city will be transferred to the administrative territory of Arkadag city by the layout of the annexe to this decree, the official Turkmen media reports.

According to the document, the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan and the administration of Arkadag City are instructed to describe the administrative-territorial boundary of Arkadag City by established procedures.

The resolution was adopted for further development of the urban economy of Arkadag city, creation of optimal conditions for organisation and management, as well as taking into account the representation of the mayor of Arkadag city and under the Law of Turkmenistan "On the procedure for resolving matters of administrative-territorial division of Turkmenistan".

Upon receiving the report from the Speaker of the Mejlis, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov underscored the significance of continual enhancements to the country's legislation and emphasised the necessity of aligning efforts with the adopted document to facilitate the expansion of the administrative territory of Arkadag City.

The government meeting encompassed a summary of the economy sectors' performance for the first ten months of the current year, a review of various document drafts, and discussions on the priority tasks pertaining to the country's socio-economic development.
