Azerbaijan's state oil company SOCAR officially opened its representative office in Ashgabat on Tuesday, Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikail Jabbarov announced on social media.
The opening ceremony was attended by Rovshan Najaf, President of SOCAR, Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan and Ashirguly Begliev, Advisor to the President of Turkmenistan on oil and gas affairs.
As part of their visit to Turkmenistan, Rovshan Najaf, President of SOCAR and Mikail Jabbarov, Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan, attended the opening ceremony of SOCAR's representative office in Ashgabat. Mikail Jabbarov emphasized that establishing the representative office reflects their strong belief in building enduring cooperation with Turkmenistan and their anticipation of mutually advantageous outcomes in the energy sector for both nations.
SOCAR produces, refines and transports oil and gas, distributes oil and petrochemical products on domestic and international markets, and supplies natural gas to the industry and population of Azerbaijan.
Mikail Chingiz oglu Jabbarov arrived on a working visit to Turkmenistan to participate in the 7th session of the Turkmen-Azerbaijani Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation held in Ashgabat on Tuesday.
