Russia respects Turkmenistan's policy of Permanent Neutrality, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Monday at the ceremony where he received Letters of Credence from newly appointed foreign ambassadors to Russia, Russia 24 TV channel reports.
"We are prepared to maintain productive cooperation on various multilateral platforms, primarily within the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), as well as in the Caspian Five and the Central Asia + Russia formats," Putin said.
In his speech, the Russian President highlighted the active development of Russia's multifaceted cooperation with Turkmenistan.
In the context of humanitarian cooperation, he emphasised the establishment of the Russian-Turkmen University, as well as the construction of a new building of the State Russian Drama Theatre and an additional building of the Pushkin Joint General Education School in Ashgabat.
On the same day in Moscow, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk.
