Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), the Afghan power utility company, met with Turkmen officials to discuss electricity procurement for 2024 and the expedited launch of the Noorul Jihad Substation Project, the DABS reported on Friday.
The meeting led by DABS' Chief Executive Officer Alhaj Mullah Muhammad Hanif Hamza, and Myrat Artykov, Head of Turkmenistan International Energy Projects, highlighted the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the energy sector.
During the discussions, both parties emphasized the urgency of initiating the Noorul Jihad substation project, underscoring the need for prompt action. Turkmenistan's technical delegation invited DABS' leadership to visit Ashgabat, the capital city, to finalize an agreement for electricity purchase in 2024.
The CEO of DABS also expressed appreciation to Turkmenistan for their ongoing collaboration and underscored the significance of bilateral meetings in strengthening and preserving positive relations between the two countries.
