Russian transport group FESCO and Uzbek Railways have agreed to collaborate on the transit route through Turkmenistan to Türkiye.
Andrey Severilov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of FESCO Transport Group, along with Akmal Kamalov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Uzbek Railways JSC, and Abdumalik Kamiljanov, Chairman of the Board of Uztemiryulkonteyner JSC in Uzbekistan reached an agreement during their meeting, the FESCO press service reported on Tuesday.
During the negotiations, the parties agreed to develop container traffic between Uzbekistan and Russia. They have also agreed to cooperate on new transit routes through Kyrgyzstan to China and African and Mediterranean countries, utilising FESCO's intermodal services.
FESCO and Uzbek Railways have agreed to establish a direct container connection between Tashkent and Moscow.
FESCO is one of Russia's leading transport and logistics companies, owning assets in the port, railway and integrated logistics businesses.
