The Iran-Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan route is set to start the launch of a pilot container train service.
Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov announced these plans during his speech at the People's Kurultai (Assembly) of the country in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, on Friday, Kabar news agency reported.
During his speech, Zhaparov added that construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway will begin soon.
Earlier this year, it was reported that Turkmenistan is interested in the construction project of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railroad, which will give a powerful impetus to developing transport links in Central Asia.
