Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov conveyed warm congratulations to Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar on ascending to the throne as the King of Malaysia. Official Turkmen media reported this on Thursday, highlighting the President's greetings on behalf of the people and the government, expressing best wishes for the new monarch.

Acknowledging the mutually beneficial cooperation between Turkmenistan and Malaysia in political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian domains, President Berdimuhamedov expressed his commitment to advancing these relations further.

Taking the opportunity, the President addressed King Sultan Ibrahim with wishes for good health, happiness, and success in his noble endeavors.

As reported by Malaysia's national news agency Bernama, the Conference of Rulers, meeting after the conclusion of the previous king's term, selected the new king through a decision among themselves. Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar was elected as Malaysia's new king by the Conference of the Country's Rulers in October 2023.
