Turkmenistan is currently advancing 22 projects with financial support from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), according to Rashid Meredov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
In a regular online meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Friday, Meredov highlighted Turkmenistan's more than 30-year membership in the EBRD since June 1, 1992, with 87 projects having been implemented through the bank's funding, as reported by official Turkmen media.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs also updated on efforts to enhance cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Investment Bank.
During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Meredov proposed initiatives to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov regarding fostering collaboration between Turkmenistan and the European Investment Bank. This includes advocating for negotiations on a draft bilateral Framework Agreement.
President Berdimuhamedov instructed the Minister of Foreign Affairs to continue efforts in establishing effective interaction with the European Investment Bank and attracting its investment for ongoing projects in Turkmenistan.
The government meeting also addressed the consideration of drafts for several documents and tackled other key priorities in public life.
