A delegation from Afghanistan, led by Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi, has arrived in Turkmenistan to expand economic cooperation, as reported  by TOLOnews on Sunday.

The delegation includes the Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum and representatives from the Afghan Railway Authority and De Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) company.

A Deputy Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that during the visit, issues related to diplomacy, business, and the economy would be discussed, along with attracting investments to Afghanistan.

The visit is expected to address bilateral political and economic matters. Discussions on joint projects, business opportunities, and investments will also be at the forefront, according to the government spokesperson Zabiullah Mujahid.

Last year, the trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Afghanistan amounted to $481 million. Afghanistan primarily imports electricity, gas, and oil from Turkmenistan, along with marble, dried fruits, and non-alcoholic beverages.
