The leadership of the Türkmengaz (Turkmen Gas) State Concern and UAE’s Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) held a meeting in Ashgabat on Tuesday to discuss the development of relations and collaboration between the two countries in the gas sector, as reported by the UAE Embassy in Turkmenistan.

The meeting saw the participation of Musabbeh Al Kaabi, ADNOC Executive Director of Low Carbon Solutions and International Growth; Maksat Babayev, Chairman of Türkmengaz; Myrat Archayev, Deputy Chairman of Türkmengaz; Muhammetmyrat Amanov, CEO of TAPI Pipeline Company Limited; and Ahmed Al Hameli, the UAE Ambassador to Turkmenistan.

In January of this year, Türkmengaz SC and ADNOC signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The purpose of this memorandum is the intention of both parties to attract strategic partners for the development of the third stage of the Galkynysh gas field and their potential participation in energy projects related to the construction of gas infrastructure for natural gas supplies to the region and other countries.

ADNOC is the national oil company of Abu Dhabi, UAE. The company controls 95 percent of hydrocarbon reserves in the UAE and ranks 6th in the world in oil reserves and 7th in natural gas reserves. The company comprises several subsidiaries engaged in exploration and production, processing and refining, as well as marketing and distribution of petroleum products.
